Description

This is an incredibly fragile, fussy template-- ---when it's bad, it's really really bad.

But when it is good, I like it a lot. :)

Gosh is that background made of those 'stripped circles'? Whatever those BGs are amazing texture!

I think they are zigzags. Glad you like them. :)

Locking?
This is my 2ct : CL IS for testing. Others might have a different approach... see your template under an other light. Several times what I thought was total failure turned out nice thanks to other ppl colouring it. I think it gives more chances to a template.
+ we don't have the same opinion, what you may think as an error could be the 'central thing' for someone else.

I gather that it feels safe to lock... it's kinda perfectionist... btw, me too sometimes. and for my part, I know it blocks my creativity - when I look back, the things I prefer are those created in a light mood - I try to watch out, avoid it but it's not always easy to control) ^^'

You make a very good point. ...Back in school, if it didn't meet my standards, I wouldn't hand it in. ...I'd get a lot of 98%s... ...and a lot of 0%s. ...My averages were often less than stellar.

Here's my proposed solution; since it can't exactly get worse now, can it:

Thanks as always for much-needed perspective, Anna. ...Template unlocked. :)

Hi, Ketisse!
Re: Unlocking
I realized yesterday that if I temporarily set templates to 'All Rights Reserved', I can test them out on CL without other lovers making patterns with them (yet), so that I don't have to see my 'mistakes' over and over (And over!). ...So most of my templates now start with a 'locked' period where only I can test them out, and then if I think they are flawed, I delete them and try another version.

...This particular template can look really terrible if you don't baby it along, so even though I like it and don't want to delete it per se, I still feel sort of protective of it.

...Sometimes it feels like my style is giving a six-year-old a box of pixy-sticks and a box of crayons. :D

Thank you, Any. ...Your words are both balm and blessing. :)

What does "unlock" mean in this context?
Don't do it if you risk it changing from what it is now or if it might develop a problem.
