Yeah, it really took time. I searched for a cool pic to start from did a little editing here and there, then I made vector shapes that represent the picture together with photoshop (this is what takes the most time) and I imported the shapes into seamless studio beta. Since I've been drawing vectors with photoshop for years it was an "easy" job for me :D Still takes hours though.

You could draw on paper, scan and vectorize... There are some online tools to do this - but I haven't tried the converters yet.
