The first pattern here is called Uniformly Checkered, but if you look at the second pattern, you might doubt they are uniform because the vertical and horizontal lines don't quite appear vertical and horizontal. Something must make that illusion happen. Maybe it's a non-uniformity in the pattern. Maybe it's the moon's gravitational pull. Maybe it's the martinis you had for lunch.
