I'm curous if classic stained glass windows were designed so the resulting light coming through all the different colours would equate to white light? Is the light in Notre Dame or York cathedrals white, or is there a blue tone or yellow or whatever. I was there years ago but I don't remember what colour the light was from the stained glass.

The artists combined colours to make other colours, but was the goal white? Is that most pleasing to us? Is that required to make these cathedral windows look "right?"

And does that apply to palettes? Are palettes whose resulting "total" of all 5 colours is closest to pure white the most pleasing to the most people?

huege is an engineer, but likes to build sand sculptures and sand castles whenever he sets sandal on a beach. This summer (2019) he decided to go to, and enter, his first sandcastle building competition in Cobourg, Ontario.

To anyone who likes building in the sand, I would highly recommned this. Building in the competiton was a wonderful experience. Because competitors get an area cordoned off with flagging tape to work in, people (kids) aren't accidentally or intentionally busting the sculpture before it's done, but you still get the passerbyers chit chatting with you and taking pictures. Very nice! I think you actually get more pictures because you are in a competition, so people assume you're good.

The best part of the competition.....you only give them $5 to enter and you walk away with $100!! Unless you aren't huege. Then you walk away with nothing, because you lost! BAM!!! Gracious winner, huege is not.

If Googled, most of the images of the Cobourg sculptures are from the professional builders, but there are a few from us amateur builders also.
