I don't know anything about design or color theory either (I don't even know the name of the things I like in your pattern) but I do know that I like it. I'm hoping that an excess of enthusiasm will make up for a lack of knowledge. So far, so good!!!
And by the way, I really like your templates. After I come down from my CLAD buzz, you might see lots of me messing with them -- I just wanted to warn you in advance! Cheers!
