That still won't help. If you were to look at the wiki page, you'd see that 5 of the fundamental patterns run off a triangular grid. It's not the shapes that are important - it's the grid beneath that enforces the symmetry. There's no way, at present, to be able to turn the pattern 60 degrees and have it indistinguishable from the original.

(I studied something close to this before I dropped out of university last time round.)

I wish Seamless would have more possibilities for wallpaper patterns, by which I mean symmetrical patterns in 2 dimensions. There are 17 different fundamental patterns, of which the first 12 can be made using a square tile, but the last 5 cannot.

I want my hexagons!

You could make the basic shape you want - now that we can save shapes it's worth taking the time to make them good. =)

and yeah, why no go on? ^^'
