Dance of Fireflies

I'm really glad that fireflies are real.

I really didn't know. We don't have any (not that I know of) in Canada, and I always thought that fireflies were like some sort of weird southern myth. Now i know I must head down south for a romantic evening of firefly viewing.

As for fireflies being in fewer places... I have no idea. I suppose, if one were intentionally embarking on a trip to see fireflies, one should first look up a Firefly Distribution Map on Google. I've heard folks in various parts of the country talk about fireflies. They were as regular as Old Faithful in Nashville, and they don't have any in the Northwest (at least that I've seen)! I have visited most of America, but perhaps I arrived at the wrong time of year to see fireflies... because I haven't seen them, personally, anywhere else. :)

Of course fireflies are real! Don't you have them where you live? We've got loads of fireflies here in Ohio, but most people call them lightning bugs.

Of course, the description could have been a joke, and I entirely missed the point. In which case I'm sorry, and it's not the first time (or the last).
