I agree with ereseigh here... Guns might be dangerous, but it depends on the people who use it.. If people are responsible, like James Bond, maybe there's no need to worry... But your idea of backfiring guns is genius, Sharon.. Let's work to invent it... Just in case! <3

If anyone could make gun safety sexy, it would be James Bond! I'd love it if he'd somehow become a face for responsible firearm ownership and safety features!

I think that's just what my invention needed - Bond, James Bond. As members of the military all our lives, we both had guns in our home growing up and while raising our own children. With our 8th grandchild due in April, it breaks my heart every time I hear that a child has died because someone was careless or because someone couldn't care less. A biometric scanner would make an excellent addition to a gun.

I'm so glad you liked my inventions - and got a good laugh from them too. I assumed these were to be pie-in-the-sky type inventions so I dreamt big.

Wow, Pixzy, these are all terrific inventions. And your sense of humor is delightful. I literally laughed out loud at the toilet that doesn't flush till the lid is put down. And I could definitely use that alarm on my wallet. (Actually, since I do all my shopping online, what I really need is an alarm on my computer!! Surely we ought to be able to create that.) Finally, your backfiring-guns idea, which I favor, sparks all sorts of thinking. And as for the topic being "too sensitive" to broach here, screw it. Just because we've created a beautiful and loving retreat here, doesn't mean we shouldn't or can't discuss hot issues. And the ME group is just the place to do so. Great work, my dear!!!!

Thanks so much!!! I wondered if my idea would backfire or if there'd be any backlash - it's such a sensitive topic these days. I'm glad you liked it, let me know when you're ready for me to consult on that novel. LOL!

Now, Postcards from Heaven sounds like it would make for an excellent devotional.

Your twisted backfire idea is brilliant, and mind-blowing, and should be the subject of a futuristic novel. And I wish your last idea could become a reality; I've often thought how wonderful it would be to receive a 'postcard from heaven.'
