Hanukkah, Yule, Solstice, Mardis Gras, Kwanzaa, Shivratri, Purim, Easter, Samhain, Cinco De Mayo, Valentine's Day, Diwali &etc. If your palette/pattern celebrates a holiday - its food, customs, decorations, symbols - the Holidays group is the place to give it a home.
Q: Do you make the abstract inspiration images that accompany many of your palettes?
A: Why yes, I do. I use digital filters to move the colors around and generally try to use those that only rearrange the colors, without blending or modifying the hues. I put each image together as I compose the specific palette. Many of them also tile seamlessly.
Doing this gives me an excuse to play around with the colors (as if I needed an excuse, lol), and the image provides an alternate visual to help see how the palette colors work together. Bottom line - it's just fun to do. :)
