At my age I've learned -

That you can get by on charm and looks for about fifteen minutes, after that, you better have something more going for you. That either you control your attitude or it controls you. That you can do something in an instant that you will regret for life. That you should never tell a child their dreams are unlikely or outlandish, few things are more discouraging, and what a tragedy it would be if they believed it. Children brought up with an abundance of love are more likely to love themselves and others. The mistakes that we make in life are rarely irreversible if we are willing to admit to them. That our background and circumstances may reflect who we were, but we are responsible for who we are and who we become. That life's lessons never end and wisdom can always be passed on. That no matter what happens to me on earth or how much my faith falters, God's faith in me never dwindles or fails.
