I have loved colors and playing around with them for I don't know how long. I used to create PowerPoint presentations just to play around with color combinations on the slides. I have always been more technical in my color experiments in that I always would work with colors on screen. I love the web site design and user interface design fields partly because these fields allow me to play with colors and figure out what color combinations looked good. It was while I was designing a site for a friend that I stumbled on a site where you could upload a picture and get the top colors in it to help create a color scheme for a web site to display the image. That project fell through, but I have continued to use the site for other purposes and have put the link to it in the spot for "my" web site. I have also had an opportunity to use my eye or color and design at the library where I currently volunteer. One of my duties is to design signs and posters for certain events. I often use the color scheme web site on an image I found and plan to use to create a palette from which I choose my colors or the posters and signs. Another time I was helping set up a book display and the woman I was working with wanted to cover the area where I was going to set up the display with a cloth and she had two: a dark blue and a dark green. I had just created a sign for the display. It was mostly black and white, but part of it was grey with a very faint hint of green, so I suggested we use the green. It looked great.
