.... to daisychain's corner of the never-ending labyrinth at CL.
2 Apr 2013 Apparently I was just having you on about the dusting. Too many pretty colours around. Hope you're not allergic.
10 Feb 2013 Excuse the dust. I'm just sweeping up and tidying house. Hello again my dear colour-loving friends! So sorry to have left you without word from me for so long. I've really missed you in all your colourful aspects. Thanks to those who have stopped by to follow or check in on me and acted as surrogate care-takers holding down the fort: novabird, whattafeeling, albenaj (sorry that hat I loaned you is now a goner for having had to use it as a sleeping bonnet these many months!), Kim100, Any Palacios, and dear eighteyed, who even sent out a search party on 'Missing Lovers' Big hugs for that! ({?}) ! eli@ dropped by too, with an armful of exuberant patterns and endearing messages from Maine, along with a palette to celebrate my 600 follower mark! (She's also plum cleaned CL out of daisy patterns too! ) Thank you so very much my sweet eagle-eyed friend!
More good things happened while I was gone too: Peabert showed up after months of absence in my followers list, most happily giving the lie to his posting that he's dead . Now if only ycc2106 would follow on shortly all would be put to rights!….
600 CELEBRATION
eli@ has made a wonderfully eli-esque palette to celebrate, and I post that proudly here :
It's quite an appropriate palette too. I'm not as green as I was at my last celebration 500 followers ago, but you're still all masters to learn from to me! Thanks to each and every one of you for your unique contributions reflecting life as you see it, thereby greatly enriching mine. A big cyberspace hug to you all!
In the meantime my talented and kind followers have also offered a rainbow of alternatives which I also post below - your mission, should you chose to accept it, is complicated by an abundance of choice! :)
Kim has now added another celebration beauty:
Sweet Piahr made this eye-catching glass flower shop window with Kim's palette. You can really smell the flowers! (but psst! between you and me, that girl can't spell worth a hill of beans! :) :) :).
What an extraordinary celebration this is! Ketisse has made a 1LP milestone palette too!
The celebration continues in reverse of the normal pattern! My talented followers are making palettes for me! Thank you so much VanAllen for this bright blue & purple palette!! And now for your pattern on top! It is a living beauty!
And the lovely shahrizat77 offered this beauty. Thanks so much, Shah!:
16 Feb 2013 after intensive training with the formidable Worf Thaddeus, daisychain will be off fighting dragons this week.
10 Feb What has daisychain been up to??? Well, if you're interested, it's been quite a busy few months what with her latest wranglings with the laws of man and the universe writing episode 9,668 of Daisychain vs. the Alien (karmatic verisimilitude having assured the (re-)production rights). As you can see from the episode number, it has been taking her a bit longer to achieve the same defeat of that tenacious gut-rending creature than the muscle-toned heroine you know from the film. As Senator Lloyd Bentson put it in his truly spoken and immortal words: "Daisychain, you're no Sigourney Weaver!". For a brief while an escape seemed imminent, but in a novel circuitously plot-thickening twist, a nearby amateur flame-throwing jester appeared who was not revealed to be an android and ash did prevail. Well, stuff happens right? And then more stuff. During the ensuing chaos Nostromo's masters managed to throw the sod's law switch into action causing the ship to eject the pay packet instead of the alien. With luck the shuttle may still be serviceable. Further episodes are assured. This is the truth. I know you don't believe me, but it is. So in short it seems it will take longer still to exit stasis (unfortunately not the biological type) before return to earth and safety is possibly.
.... breaking news ..... Worf Thaddeus has come to daisychain's aid with the finest dragon-slaying gear this side of the Carpathian Mountains. The sheer beauty of it will lure the dragon and the fierceness of the gleaming sword and praxical magical shield will be his undoing! I feel it for sure. I feel invincible now. Etermal thanks!!!!!!
There are prizes and souvenirs for those joining in on The Grand Hunt too! Check them out on the page!
Pauline Jones has joined in The Grand Hunt and returned with a magnificent set of dragon toes that Worf Thaddeus will be pleased to present his mistress Glenna to use in her jewellery making. Pauline reports from the field "Poor Toeless Dragon just hobble everywhere he goes now.... Awwww" . Methinks she shows too much pity. Victory!!!!!!
Luckily ColourLovers is a type of alternate reality anyway, so daisychain needn't reach firm ground to wander its more flowering fields, full of pots of gold at the end of the rainbow, though visits will remain sporadic (unless anyone can materialise that pot of gold. In that event please send notification to [email protected] thanks a million daisy petals! ).
6 Oct My appearances on CL will continue to be a bit sparse over the next few weeks, having to tend to less colourful fields than here. I've left a lot of loose ends here and there are so many of you I want to get back to for your kind comments and more .... ah well, what's tomorrow for? Till then! I've left the door unlocked, so please feel free to come in and browse about or settle in for a chat with my daisy neighbors while I'm away.
All notifications are regularly read, but I now only thank in chronological order because otherwise I just can't keep track of who I have and haven't thanked. I will however respond to comments as they come in, because I can keep track of them. So please be patient .... In the meantime, Thanks and Love to you all! I'm honoured and lightened in spirit by your gracious loves and appreciation!
Update 31 July: I have made some changes to my organisational system - minimal though it is - to help me keep track of responses made out of chronological order, because I do like to respond spontaneously when I have the time. It's nicer that way, isn't it? I just bemoan the haphazardness and inequality of it all! Please, I hope no one feels put out because of my irregular responses - it's just circumstances, not choice! I am grateful to you all equally! Other than that ... daisy is still very very behind with many thank you's and apologises with all the deference her bowing daisy petals can muster.
Update 17 June: daisy hangs her insufficiently strong petals in defeat as she has lost pages and pages of notifications even though she thought they were being saved. They were however all read. I appreciate them all and hopefully your creations have been loved by me at some time during the course of my many hours admiring and clicking on them. Daisy doesn't like chaos but chaos she has. If anyone knows any daisy-fortifiication recipes please let me know. Truth be told, painful though it is to me, I will probably miss more in the future. Please let me know if I haven't responded to something special you have sent. But daisy shall fear no defeat! No battle to keep up the dialogue and thank you is too great for her small daisy petals to fight, though she may lose some it will not stop her trying. So now you know: daisy, is, well .... human. Please bear with her. Love to you all!!!
IC Hue just made me some very fancy stuff! Look what he has done for my damselflies! Why they're so happy they're flying right off the page!! Isn't it beautiful???
our dear deci belle has noticed your palette too and organised a picnic for us all on this fine plaid blanket, guaranteed to minimise grass and curry stains!
dear xelda45, please forgive the belated posting of your gifts. I'm a very ditzy daisy sometimes, so pre-occupied I can't be where I am. :)
What brought this oversight to my attention was her recent use of that palette in this creation, so gently named but pregnant with wise advice.
A dear and beautiful gift from OrigamiMei. Words fail me.
A pattern gift from TiffsArt just for lovin'! Imagine that! What a sweetheart!
sandradumit, you know, that sweet funny gal with the red nose? Yeah, her. Well she whipped up this little beauty out of daisychain's colours. Whatta you think? Makes a pretty good pattern, huh? Thanks so much, Sandra!
Out of the blue dear lettigo7 sent me these thriving daisies amongst the exuberant fresh green of spring! What a happy way to finish the winter season! Thank you so much!
I am a very lucky daisy. Mharel has woven these threads of soft golden light from her very own 700 celebration palette as a welcome back gift full of big healthy "sparkly daisies". Thanks for the uplift, Marie!
Thanks so much for these brilliant welcome back gifts sherrydee846!
I returned from my long absence to find MiyuriScarlet had created this strong and resilient 1LP palette. I'm glad she finds me delightful! :)
This is a 1LP palette made by the talented and funny sandradumit which I lost but since have found (oh for graces large and small!). I hope to make a pattern to honour it soon.
pink pumpkins by ppkmd! come pick them while they're fresh! they'll go in hurry you know! Aren't they lovely? (And take a peek at the dedication too!) thanks ppkmd!
AmericanWomen has found me out! She's captured me exactly in this portrait: a complicated piece of machinery not quite in working order and very much in the experimental stages! Would you look at the state of that poor daisy's chain! Oh my oh my .....
gifts of sunshine for a daisy from the sweet JulieBonnington Thank you so much, Julie! They're both so lovely and warm my heart!
one of the casualties of my insufficiently strong daisy petals to keep up with the avalanches of your loves was my failure to notice this gentle and warm 1LP gift from ereseigh a full month ago! But better late, than never, they say! Please all - do go give it some well-deserved love!
In the meantime I've made her some patterns to the templates of Linsenmayer, bhsav, anonymuse, and dazzlement to soften her heart. (oh, daisy, what cunning guiles lurk in your petals!)
belated thanks, ereseigh, for the uniquely beautiful vibrations of your 1LP gift palette!
lovely fields of daisies from eighteyed's own toil and labour:
gifts from me for Topbear, the swash-bucklingest ursine template-maker at CL (unless she gets her head stuck in the honey pot like old Pooh did)
sunflowerseeds is aptly named for she not only spreads sunshine but seeds more in her wake. I bow my daisy head in thanks to her for these fine gifts - not one but two! palettes - full of both strong spirit and delicate sensibility. Thank you!
Go follow Freak4Color right now! She'll make you your very own 1LP palette just for following!!!! And each one more beautiful than the next! Even if you're her 347th follower like me! Now that's a sweet deal - and in this case very sweet! Just take a look at this:
As I felt completely spoiled, it all went to my head, so I made dear Freak4Color this pattern as a thank you. Later when I came to my senses a made her another one and a couple more too, which you can check out on the palette page. Thanks dear Freak4Color!
Talk about swimming! deci belle has made me a fine palette and I shall wrap myself in it and prance about the beach like Daisy Lemay when we go on holiday at , Thailand. (You can get - did you know?) Deci says there's going to be a big beach umbrella to shade my daisy petals - it will be like floating in a cocktail! After that we'll go swimming in the waves and oh, well, ahem ... that's all you need to know about that!
As of today, things are going swimmingly for me! I'm now not only the proud owner of a pony, but I've acquired some goldfish as well, thanks to dear whattafeeling . There's Ms. Bumble Yellow and Ms. Burgundy Who Thinks She's Mauve, who keep the good goldfish bowl tidy but otherwise do nothing but go around in circles. But then there's the one named 'antenna to heaven' and wow! whattafeeling that will be! Thanks a lot, for the gift, whattafeeling!
maryjd is a very sweet person and too! she has made me thank you gifts for her gifts! Just pick me up off the floor! Thank you so much, Mary!
And from the beautiful majestic hues of her palette I've now made her a gift.
YuuupitsRosie just silently went about making a 1LP palette from my colours a couple of weeks ago, but even though she was tip-toeing around I heard about it anyway. And good thing too - it's lovely! See for yourself!
Our Queen has recognised a member of my palettry and elevated it to the ranks of nobility in a gracious gesture she has marked with the creation of this fine celebratory pattern. Dear Queen, my humble thanks to you!
oh dear oh dear ms. daisychain. you plum flew right over this lovely palette chock full of daisies from that nice ms.Blue Opal. well there, there, here you are, finally, right where you should be, on my profile page where everyone can admire you! Thanks so much, Blue Opal!!!!!
She's a nice lady. I hope she'll forgive me. I brought her some gifts. She's not in right now but maybe next time she'll invite me in for tea.
Our resident architect, shahrizat, is building a bigger and better world for daisychains everywhere! Just look at this series of designs in sophisticated daisy-atypical colours that she has created in our honour! My daisy petals are swelling with pride! Thank you so much, Shah.
bluzette, bless her dear little bodice, has made me the most discrete pattern "tapé doucement". To which I say "mais très doucement !!!" merci infiniment, bluzette! I'm afraid you'll have to go visit it yourself to find what awaits you at the rendez-vous! I wonder if she'll be wearing her new gifts from me???
A pony! A pony! eli@ gave me a pony, just like she promised! Oh I'm so happy! I've never had a pony!!! I've got a pony, I've got a pony .... Thanks eli@
Yay! I've got the first colour named after me: "daisychainly green" ! Isn't that a trip! tripping off the old tongue like an irish jig. daisychainly green, daisychainly green, daisychainly green ..... I love it, eighteyed.! Thank you so much!
No sooner did I meet the lovely Shahrizat than she made me a gift to start off the celebration for her 200 followers. I would say this relationship is getting off to a bang! Thanks and congratulations, Shahrizat!
glinda, a very good witch indeed, made me this delightful gift! She adores daisies and likes talking to them, which is quite lucky for me. This is an adorable template, with daisies and hearts linked by gentle chains dancing between them like busy bumble bees! Thank you, glinda!!!!!!
bluzette loves picnics! Have you ever been to one of hers? I'm sorry I've just got around to telling you about them if not. She has them often and they can be a lot a fun, full of double entendres and other activities. The first one was a very modest, buttoned-up affair, but after that we got to know each other better and things opened up rapidly.
sherrydee846 sherry dee, what a sweetheart is she, for she hath made this all for me! Thanks ever so much for this absolutely delightful gift, sherry!!!!!!
Topbear, yes the Topbear, has dedicated a template to me! Yes, lil' ol' daisy! But what a big bright healthy daisy it is! Check her out! Big bear hug thanks to you, Topbear!
And of course I had to capture the electric charge of excitement her gift shot through my timorous daisy fibres right back at her as thanks for my new growth spurt and dose of love hormones!
albenaj has honoured me with the creation of this 1LP palette of soft light and a witty and bold pattern to go with it. Thanks so much! Big love and sunshine to you! ????:
Belatedly posting my thank you gifts to albena for her delightfully airy palette, full of soft light and warm colours!
mosaicberry has touched my heart today with these beautiful and unexpected gifts:
My thank you gifts have been a long time coming, but they've finally arrived!
I previously received a most generous and touching gift from PennWright, that I would like to share with you. A click through to reveal the full beauty of it would not be time ill-spent!
Other Thanks
If you like my floating "Jump to Comments" button on the right hand side, all thanks go to Chesire101, who kindly gave me the code, image and the smart instructions. Thanks, Chesire!

Rest in peace Daisy.

This is Peter checking in again. I have just read your beautiful words. I know that Daisy mentioned ColourLovers a lot and in particular the connections she was establishing and enjoying, and I am sure she also thought much of you. As a private person she was somewhat torn about the 'online life' - I can assure you this is the only social website she ever got involved in. She was always reticent about fully opening up.
I share with you the loss that we do take things for granted, and am still missing her very badly, wishing we had done more together, lived more for the moment. I have learned to know her even better just by visiting this website, I am at least consoled that we did do some good stuff together - our time in Paris for 7 years after 2001 were a wonderful time - although we might not have said such at the time, being taken up by the background noise of issues, and also by the beauty of her presence in my life, which is now no longer there. It is impossible to 'realise' happiness until after the event.
Thanks for trying with the pattern - the symbolism is probably correct. Daisy would appreciate the sentiments and I guess we are all a 'work in progress'.
Best wishes and love to you all,
Peter

Dear Daisy...
Some days ago, I was making a memorial template design for you, and because of a temporary failure in the recent site server move, it failed to save and was lost forever. I was bummed. This is the only trace left of my design, a quick screenshot grabbed while the futile clock icon spun, but nothing loaded.
Lately I've seen it as a symbol of my relationship with you. Our friendship only developed so far, and not into something greater to be shared, and though fate was lost forever into the ether. I treasured our conversations. I wish I'd seized the chance to know you better. I took that for granted at the time, that we'd have longer to talk, that you'd come back someday.
I hadn't realized I'd been waiting all this time. I'll keep burning candles, hope we meet again.
Thanks again, Peter. I wish the best for you.
~ Edith
