Petite in frame but big on creativity New Jersey pop artist, Andrea Ramirez, began her artistic career by studying fashion design in New York City. While studying fashion Andrea began to gain a greater appreciation for textiles, prints, and textures and began to concentrate solely on textile surface design which allowed for more room of creative expression. Using similar design techniques from her work with textiles, Andrea's artwork is highly stylized and vibrant in nature. Her characteristic use of rich color combinations and bold graphic lines are a unique signature in Andrea’s artwork.

Andrea Ramirez was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and lived in the small Caribbean town of Puerto Limon during her early childhood. She moved to New Jersey in the early 1980’s where she would often make trips with her family to New York City which at the time was at the height of it's pop culture craze. It was during these memorable years where Andrea's fascination with pop culture began. Andrea has exhibited locally and nationally, and recently finished a month long exhibition in Chelsea, NY. Andrea is currently working on commissioned work.
