It isn't a nickname its my first name :-) My mum was studying Russian and Polish Culture when she had me so that's why she gave me a Polish name. I'm from Scotland so over here my name is very unusual! i had never met anyone called Kashka before until i went to university and lived with a polish girl called Katarzyna and she told me its a form of the Polish name Catherine just like you say,and her friends often called her Kaśka or Kasia :-) My name Kashka is spelt the way it is so it can be easily pronounced in English :-)
