In June 1998, I decided to build my own construction business as a general contractor after working for my father’s construction company. I chose the name “Free Spirited Contractor” because I felt it was important to set myself apart from other general contractors in Maryland. It was important to work outside of conventional bounds by creating new, bold ideas and ways of doing the best job possible.
Free Spirited Contractor, Inc. provides residential and commercial contracting, based out of its Westminster office and warehouse, all overseen by owner Michael Spangler and three full time staff. The company has 20 full-time construction employees in the field, and a fleet of 10 work vehicles, serving all of Maryland, Washington D.C., and southern Pennsylvania.
