when you save for web (on any platform), you're going to lose color vibrancy - that's just the nature of the beast. what i do to overcome this is to pump up my levels a touch over the top (cmd+L) and then save for web.

One thing I do is edit in proof mode. If you go to: View > Proof Setup > Monitor RGB, it will look the same when you export them in Save for Web as they do when you're editing them.
Also check and see if you have Convert to sRGB set in your Save for Web Presets [it's the tiny (>) icon in the top right panel in the Save for Web dialog]. I have this turned off.

Save for Web compresses the file more than just a save. So for best color and resolution, just hit Save As, and use the highest quality possible. It will be a larger file size, but that is the trade off---quality vs. size.

I would honestly like to know whose brilliant idea it was to try forcing a defunct program on people wishing to create patterns? I mean seriously, flash no longer exists, no support and Adobe demands people to uninstall due to damage that can be done to other programs and your PC. So why can I not make patterns without a flashplayer popup saying I can't because I don't have it installed?

From what I can gather the Sphinx server has been down for over a month and the forums are inundated with spam. I want all my old patterns back but I can't even view my profile. What is going on? Was the site abandoned?

I have a MacBook Pro and it seems like every time I save an image for the web it loses its vibrancy in color. I've heard of other people having the same problem - but have yet to find a solution.
If you know how to bring the life back to color in CS3 then let me know.
