Im_So_Happy!
All great movies, to kill a mockingbird is one of the greats of all times, young gregory peck, so beautiful, love the movie, loved philadelphia also, young antoni and young denzel and young tom, such a good story, loved glory, Reds, and the mission are also both good.
Great choices! "To Kill a Mocking Bird" is sooo up on my list. I will be watching it with my 8th Grader, right after he reads the book!

I can tell that my list of "Must Watch Movies" is going to get longer now! : ) The only one of yours I've seen is To Kill A Mockingbird, and I loved it. I like a well-crafted, serious movie; and I agree with you, some of the best ones are the older ones.

I like good suspense and sci-fi, too. I mean, who doesn't love Silence of the Lambs or Seven?

Isn't 'Seven' a DRAMA?? (love it!)

Such serious choices! It looks like you like drama. Don't hit me, but does that make you an o2bdramaqueen?

LOL!!!!! I wouldn't hit you...I applaud your quick wit!!!
Yes, I love drama best of all. I find most comedy is just silly stuff. I do like "smart" comedies, however—like the The Paper with Michael Keaton and Glenn Close, Dogma, and a number of others. I like good suspense and sci-fi, too. I mean, who doesn't love Silence of the Lambs or Seven? Thanks for your delightful comment, Bluesy!

agggh! i love aall your choices too! I wish there were 10 spots! hard to decide =)

YAY! So glad you like them, too. It's always fun to find someone who likes the same things you do. I also had a hard time getting down to only five. So I set made my major criterion as the movies I can watch over and over and never grow tired of. Case in point, I love the movie Dogma, but I won't drop everything else to see it when it's on. :-)))

Ok, I'm so ashamed I've only watched the first one (and I love it). Have to watch all of them.

Oh my goodness...don't feel bad. I'm just glad if I've pointed you in a direction you'll like traveling. Besides, I rarely go to the movies any more, so I'm quite out of touch with today's flicks. I only see what I catch on cable's Pay Per View. Thanks for your comment!!! :-))

Hi Linda great choices n synopsis ....I will try the last three at the video rentals .....the first two... ;) superb renditions... :)

Hi Monisha! So glad you like them. Of the other three, I'd recommend starting with Glory. It's not as complex as Reds and is faster paced than The Mission. But you really should try them all eventually!!! Thanks for your sweet comment!! :-)))

I thought I posted my comments last night! I must have talked to you in my head instead of on ColourLovers - lol....
I LOVE your movies! I haven't seen Glory - but I've seen the others.... and these are GREAT choices! Did you have a 2nd string list of movies as well? Was it hard to narrow it down to these 5? I haven't seen Reds for such a long time - I'll have to look it up again

Oh yeah, I had a long, long list of favorites. The way I cut it down was to double-check with myself whether it was a movie I just liked a lot or whether it was one I could watch over and over and never grow tired of. When I used that criterion, the list got quite short.
I'm so glad you've seen Reds, too. I find there are very few people who have and feel I've met a true kindred spirit when I encounter one who has. Hello, Kindred Spirit. :-)
How cool to think of you talking to me in your sleep. I promise to always whisper back nothing but sweet dreams
Thanks for your wonderful comment, Gretta!.
