Aww, thanks for the cute story, Rockinfreakapotamus! And I'm glad you like the template. :D

I've never owned a turtle but I see wild ones in my yard from time to time. They really are adorable creatures.

Such a cute template! I heart turtles, so I especially love this. ♥ Story time! (Don't feel obligated to read this, I just like to share. :D)

I had two pet turtles growing up, Oscar and J.T. J.T. was a girl, but she was my older brother's before I inherited her, and he was like nine when he got her... The most interesting age for naming pets, right? Kids always come up with the most bizarrely creative names. Our other pets had names like Tobby, Tamaqua (pronounced Tom-ah-ka), Cappy, Q (short for Simon Quincy), etc. My brother bucked the trend and named his new pet the oh-so-creative... Joe's Turtle. When he decided a year later that he was tired of cleaning her aquarium and stuff, I was the one who got to take her. :D Since she was no longer Joe's Turtle, not to mention that I thought that was a perfectly stupid name for a pet, I tried changing it to something I liked, Idr what, but I can guarantee it was better. ; ) It just didn't fit, though. She was already J.T. and that was that. I decided the initials stood for something else, at least, although I couldn't tell you what, by now. A few years later Oscar came along when someone was giving away their turtles; we introduced him to J.T. and they fell in sweet turtley love. It was adorable! I never would have guessed how much personality turtles (or snakes, which we also had, or a lot of other animals, for that matter) can have. But they definitely did!

I was devastated when they died -- thankfully turtles live for a long time, though, so I had them for most of my life. I also had one baby turtle who was born extra tiny and missing a leg... the runt of the batch (what do you call a group of turtles? A litter doesn't sound right. : P Google time!*), and he was the CUTEST little guy! I named him Stubby, because of the little stub he had where his leg was supposed to be. He didn't live very long, but he was so sweet and cute. : )

*Apparently, a group of turtles can be called either a bale, a dole, or a nest. I kinda knew the last one, I just thought it only applied when they're actually in the nest. : P If no one else benefits from this looong comment, at least I now know one more thing that could potentially win me money if I'm ever on Jeopardy. : |
