They are transparent because they are not an actual shape, they are lines grouped at an angle. Very very thin lines one next to the other at a more or less 100º angle, like a fan.
These very thin lines are not made in Seamless Sudio, I made the "shape" on Illustrator and then imported it to SS and used it to create the template in many different positions.
