until CL i was a paint and brush, pen and ink person. only very gradually discovering that art can flow from a keyboard and mouse.

It is definitely difficult to stay away from Colourlovers. :) I don't make many palettes but when I do I just end up copy/pasting the hex numbers into the palette maker. It is not too tedious, but perhaps a more seasoned palette maker around here knows of a better way.
I can see how a tablet could be quite limiting, though. You may indeed want to hunt down a machine with a mouse! Thank you again for the compliments and good luck!
