That's brilliant! :) I've experimented with multi-point stars and spirals, but the stars always artefact, and the spirals don't give enough control of gap/line. I am profoundly in your debt, my dear! :) (Seriously, if I can ever do anything to return the favour...!)

I use blend from big circle to small, big circle has a very thin border, so this blend looks like radial gradient.
It's good way to make radial and elliptical gradients
