I've found that too that a template is not just the pattern itself but it's also the pattern of the shading - hadn't really thought about that when I first started here. Am learning so much from this amazing site. Some patterns can look so good to colour but they can be hard to find the right palette as they sometimes need to be similar tones or they sometimes will only work if there are both light and dark tones. x
