I haven't read the Dorothy must dies series, but the Wicked series are great :). Yes, it's surprising that no one seemed to recognise it - of course, maybe some people did but never commented on it? I thinkit's mostly down to people not reading the other Oz books though, which is a pity. Oz is such a fantastic world build with so many great characters.
