Just darkened the background a bit. I like it better now.

But I must admit, it bothers me a bit, that while it glows nicely it also severely lacks depth.
Actually, it has a subtle yet pleasant sense of depth because of the graduated shades of blue in the background. There's no question that this is a beautiful pattern, and that it turned out very cool! It's alright if there are patterns that don't always fit ALL the criteria you have for perfection. There are so many different goals you can have when you're creating patterns, you know? It's art!
