Description

This reminded me of the very first embroidery lesson I had. We were living in Brussels and I was attending a Belgian Catholic school because an American school had not been built yet.

There were about a dozen of us in our first grade class and the nuns would teach in French and then bring us aside and teach us in English.

Once a day, the girls would separate from the boys. During one of these times, us girls were given lessons in embroidery.

I still have my project and though none of the embroidery stitches are exactly like this, there is a section close enough to remind me of that project.

Thank you so much for the compliment. Marzlene's template is genius in its simplicity.

I've dabbled in just about every craft imaginable over the years - knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross-stitch, tole painting, watercolors, sketching, quilling, ceramics, woodworking (to name a gazillion), before settling on stained glass. I still enjoy crocheting afghans, especially in the winter where they keep my legs warm the longer they get. I don't embroider much anymore though you've given me an idea for another craft to teach my eight year old granddaughter - I'll teach her the exact same piece that I made when I was in first grade. What fun!

Beautiful , I've worked in a craft( handmade) boutique for 15 yr. and involved in the crafts, pottery , silkscreen, a long time. It's o great to see beautiful work like this , I hope it won't die out completely, maybe it's like spinning wool there are few doing it , but embroidery is so great and you can carry it with you , if you have time to pass, do it creatively , best to you ! , killemy
