Following the war, John Wyer operated a business in Watford, England that specialized in the preparation of racing and high-performance cars. In 1950 David Brown at Aston Martin hired Wyer as racing team manager; Wyer managed Aston Martin for thirteen years, and in 1959 Aston Martin won the 24-Hours of Le Mans and the World Sports Car Championship.
