I've got'ta love it.
lol.
(actually, I choked on that laugh)

I think you're right ;)
My father was in World War II, but was killed by hospital infection later. There's a lot of that going around, also. Handwashing would help.
I suppose it's easy for us to rally-cry for non-violence without much point of reference...

my grandfather was in the Air Force too during WWII - although he never had much enemy air space time so I didn't get the stories... We could have all benefited from knowing more of the facts.

the peace sign symbolism is very interesting, indeed.
It was the B-36 bomber that was designated the "Peacemaker".
The point of the illustration is that a B-52 is the same shape as the center of a peace sign, which was originally taken from the two semaphore flag signals for N and D, for Nuclear Disarmament. The politicians and generals may argue, but the troops like myself were the ones that had to go over there to slug it out. If the Air Force caused the war to end sooner, that's fine with me. The lives of two million Americans and Japanese could have been saved by an abrupt end to World War II by overwhelming demonstration of force and an unconditional surrender. We did not have to invade the homeland. Germany and Japan were working on an Atom bomb, and would have used it on us had they completed it before we did.
lol.

I'm not sure I would encourage B-52s as a vehicle for peace - but that says nothing for the colour, which is wonderful :)

Ooooooh. Two somebodies didn't like B-52 Peace. I am glad that you picked it though because it was the right color for this palette. There is no accounting for taste. I need to post a voting palette over there from the "you vote 1 and I vote 9" group.
