That's pretty cool. Wild signs like this always capture a community. In San Francisco there used to be a hot dog chain, called Diner Dogs. Their signs, naturally, were these giant dachshund "wiener dog" heads wearing chef hats and an interesting expression of amusement. There's only one left standing, at one of the now-gone chain's old locations on Sloat, down towards Ocean Beach and the SF Zoo (the building is still a hotdog place, this one called Carousel Dogs). When the old giant wiener dog head sign blew down in a massive storm a massive group of folks who were fond of it paid to have the sign re-erected on a new pole, in the same spot, and to have the dachshund head re-painted to simulation of its original glory. I drove past it every day on my way to work when I lived up there and I was really glad when that giant chef-dog was grinning down at me again.
