if i have to add the image of the selected pattern/palette how do i do that?
i have seen a lot of lovers doing that and tried a lot but cudnt do it. please help

What you are asking about is called a "pattern badge" or "palette badge". Here is a link to a page with instructions on how to insert a badge.
