Those colors were not named by me, but are some examples of ways to name colors....
What you see is what you get: black, aqua...
Personal reference: cotton shirt (although that might be poetic, too)
Descriptive: cinnamon, burnt cinnamon.

There's quite a few more different ways to name colors, from the mundane: medium blue, to the common naming after the palette...as in palette name 1,2,3,4,5 or some such.
There are poetic and odd off the wall names and paint color names and nature references etc.
I have chosen (with my own names) everything from the above style, although I do not usually choose the "palette name" approach.
