I see. Maybe that's something to suggest to CL's staff!

Not that I know of. Unless you actually search through all the palettes on the site, or search for the individual colors in palette you're trying to find duplicated. Even then, you may not find anything because they sometimes use slightly different hex-codes so they can't be accused of out and out copying (as you pointed out earlier)

By the way, is there a way to find similar palettes? That would be very helpful...
Thanks a lot, dear! This made me a little nervous... but here is my first version, with the picture I was inspired by: Festival.

If I may join the conversation - don't worry, I think while both palettes do look similar, it's clear that yours is your original work. You can find sister palettes all over CL, and I personally love looking at them :) It's interesting to see how people get similar results at different times... ^_^

Sure, I agree. But unfortunately (or fortunately), the colors had different hex-codes, even though to naked eye they looked just like the same. So I couldn't really say it was a copy =/ I wouldn't be able to prove anything.

Knowing that there's an older palette similar to mine (I mean that one you linked to), makes me want to love/fave it, since I love it a lot. But now I'm nervous that someone will think I made a copy of it... =S

If your palette is original and someone took it and labeled it as their own, you should definitely say something. Nothing sucks more than lack of originality.

Never seen it before. But I actually found another person with a palette that looks just like the same as mine, and it was created after mine. But I decided not mention it - it wasn't worth it.

This looks awfully similar to Miss_Anthropy's palette...

That's definitely a good idea. But I wish there was a way to find that out before... If I knew there was a palette so similar to mine, I wouldn't have created a new one (or would have deleted asap). I'm sorry if I made you think that I copied someone else's idea!

(PS.: Even though I like the shade of yellow that I used nicer than the old version, now that I am able to compare them both... hehe)

What I do when I find a palette or pattern similar to one of mine is gently point out that the two palettes/patterns are "sisters". That way, they're made aware that you're aware of their palette and the fact that they are so similar. Most of the time, though, people aren't intentionally trying to "steal" palettes. Usually it's a misunderstanding or they just really really love the palette!
