Occupation
I'm a scientific illustrator, artist and designer. My employers and clients have included MIT, Harvard, Disney, Marvel, Harmonix, Mitsubishi, and Apple among others. My work has been published by Advanced Materials magazine, Science Magazine, the National Science Foundation, and ImagineFX. On July 20th, 2015, eleven shorts that I co-animated at Disney Television Animation aired on DisneyXD.
I'm the Artist in Residence for an MIT research group, the Laboratory of Atomistic and Molecular Modeling. While at MIT I took a short course on Multiscale Materials Design. I then conducted interdisciplinary research which utilizes the rigorous mathematic system of Category Theory to translate art creation processes into material creation processes. http://web.mit.edu/mbuehler/www/
I am also on the Learning + Education team at the Encyclopedia of Life within Harvard University. Some of my specific responsibilities include UI + UX, web design, graphic design, information architecture, wire-framing, style guides, user flows, prototyping, and illustration. I contribute to EOL's main site, the Learning + Education site, printed cards, mobile apps, and web apps.
Since my schedule is flexible, I regularly work with outsourcing studios which tend to come to me for quality content under a tight deadline.
I'm currently available to take on an additional freelance project or two, either remotely or within the Bay Area.
