When Commenting i always repost widths and comment under the Palette Badge i think this is a courtesy to the palettes creator. I will post/repost my widths if the palette in question requires it to be viewed in that form. This is a courtesy to those who don't have Sponsorship and not what i define as Badge Spamming.

I'm VERY forgetful -- I will "comment" my own palettes with patterns/colors I have created.

When commenting on another's art, I typically will add their badge. I have found more users and their work by "clicking" on a badge posted with a comment. If I am breaching etiquette -- my bad.

Jilbert,

I do the same thing. And I enjoy seeing the comments come by along with the palette badges. Otherwise, I would miss out on SOOOOOOOO many wonderful palettes. I think this is a high form of flattery, and not spam and certainly NOT bad etiquette. It is Color LOVE!

As I said in another group, if it bothers you, don't look. This is a creative place and we are all here to share. How on earth can one share if you keep things hidden. I have a favorite pair of sandals. Is it okay for me to go out in public and wear them (oh no, people might see!). I have blue suede Vans. I have pink Keds. I have a bright green purse. I'm a walking palette! LOL

I say let's be cool about these things. Let's enjoy the beauty of the colors gliding by. Hmmm, I feel a palette coming on! :D
I, too, like to post BADGES, especially when I read a string of comments referring to a palette / pattern and have to click to see what everyone's raving about. It's fun to see the badge and compare comments. Sometimes it's even inspirational!
I probably post the badge with a comment about half the time. I often use it when I see that the lover I am commenting on is fairly new to CL (as a way to include them in the main stream of our colour life), and sometimes if the palette seems to have gotten over looked and I think it might garner more attention if it is out and about for a few minutes. I also use it when I am just awed by the work!
In my opinion, unless a palette has custom widths, I feel it is redundant to post a badge of the item you are commenting on in your comment on that item. To me, it's no big deal to click over to something if a comment piques my curiosity, then if I find I'm not interested after all, I can hit the back button or, stay and join the conversation.

But, "to each, his own."
Some have also set the widths to not be displayed, and EVERYTHING will show up as a standard width palette. Posting the variable width COPASO palette in the comment allows the widths to show for everyone.
I'm ok with this when it's a COPASO palette and when the maker only does this once. When they systematically post their badge in their comments it bothers me. It feels like a big sign saying "Look at me! Vote for me!" is shoved in my face and I'm not too fond of ads. It also feels like the comment is not meant for the person they're replying to but for other people.
I'm with TCDesignsStudio ~ I post the badge if it's a custom width to show it off for the person, especially if it's received little attention. If it doesn't use custom widths, I tend to just comment. I've never been bothered by others posting their palettes all over the place, I simply ignore them. Life is too short to be upset by such trivial things. :)

Exactly, Ren! :D
I just post other people's work if I think it's extra pretty. And to show off widths on theirs and my own.

Sometimes I put patterns in to show them as a group with a palette. But not too often.
I'm generally one who will always post a palette badge with all my comments, widths or no widths. For my palettes, I have made it a habit to have the first comment be one with the custom widths so people can see what it looks like without having to do an extra click. For patterns, I always post them in the info/inspiration box of the palette. And I always re-post palettes and patterns from others that I comment on just so that CL members can see that person's artwork and maybe that person can get more votes and love. I don't see any harm in posting palettes and patterns on comments. That's the point of the badge.
