Wedding Colour: RED

I loved how this couple incorporated RED in to this wedding without trying too hard or going overkill. They used it in the cutest of areas down to using tu-tu’s and tootsie rolls. The average wedding already incorporates the white of the brides dress and black for the man’s tuxedo, so their colour scheme involved all of red, black and white as a whole.

My friend and feature photographer, Jolyn Hutsell at Davee Blu Photography was nice enough to put together this adorable collage with all the adorable details this couple used. I thought that the tu-tu’s for the flower girls was an adorable and abstract touch.

I always appreciate the creativity that goes in to shooting the wedding ring set. I like how this combined image shows the texture of the heart-shaped bowl (wooden? or the paint texture in the ceramic?) and the significance.

How beautiful is the alter area? They simply added bunched curly willow (stripped of leaves)  to the front posts of the arbor and a Flower Ball, or otherwise an oversized Pomander Ball, hanging down the center. Easy to do yourself, or have a florist make it for you.

Most people who go with red in their theme tend to saturate the bridal party in red (especially the bridesmaids). I like the use of black where some people might hesitate in using black for the bridesmaids because it might look like a funeral, I think that it’s an excellent colour that works for anyone. Red is not always complimentary to everyone’s skin tone. Black makes girls feel sexy and is visually slimming. These dresses will be able to be re-used as well since they aren’t a wonky shade branding them as bridesmaids dresses. Smart choice Bride.

My ultimate favorite red piece incorporated in this wedding were the brides sexy All Stars. A funky, fun touch. Shoes are such a fun way to add some hidden funk to your wedding wardrobe when they’re under your dress!
