Philips Ambilight Series of TVs extend the colors of video outside of the screen to create an ambiance that heightens the viewing experience... and they are now releasing their latest creation, Aurea. The new 42" Aurea doesn't just extended the colors onto the wall behind the TV anymore, it extends the color out of the back, front and sides.
Four trillion colours processing
Vibrant and natural images from most advanced colour processing. The three colour channels (RGB) are optimised using 14 bit resolution, a total processing power of four trillion colours. It produces vibrant colours while retaining excellent sharpness. The advanced algorithms detect subtle colour shades and skin tones, and processes these to give most natural colours.

Glass-blowing is an art form that I would consider to be the most complex in the sculpting world. Between the need for extreme temperatures and careful technique, it seems beyond me how such wonderful things can be created by glass-working artists, especially because it almost entirely has to be done while the glass is molten hot.
But what can come out of that heat is incredibly beautiful. From paperweights to landscape art, glass is a world of all shapes -- and colours. Considered the greatest living master of glass-working, Dale Chihuly's glass creations show us just that. From warm yellow and bold reds to oceanic teals and deep sky blues, the spectrum of his work is boundless. Looking at Chihuly's collection of Basket creations and Seaforms is enough to show us his extensive colour palette, while his work plays at the pre-conceived notions we have of what glass is.
A crew of eight crosses the line between Hello Kitty's cuteness and the sojourns of Star Trek. Together, they travel the ocean searching for fun and adventure. These talented eight -- including a valiant polar bear, daredevil kitten, and big-hearted penguin -- eagerly meeting the excitement they find outside of their undersea base, the Octopod.
They are the Octonauts, and they live in a vibrantly coloured and illustrated world created by the illustration and design team MEOMI, bringing vivid colours to imaginative stories.
... Vicki Wong (Vancouver) and Michael Murphy (LA). They have been featured illustration and design books, while their characters have found homes all over the world on clothing, merchandise, toys, and magazines. Meomi has been a creative force for Fisher-Price/Mattel, Electronic Arts, Google, Time Out Magazine, Bang-on Clothing, and CBC4Kids.
We've all had them before ... The Flu, The Common Cold, a Stomach Ache, Sore Throat, Ear Ache ... but Mange? Salmonella? Who wants that? I do. In fact, I've had the Common Cold for three years. Thanks to GIANTmicrobes, you can catch these little buggers and be glad of it, too.
GIANTmicrobes is a company that has created a number of stuffed representations of actual microbes at a million times their actual size. The stuffed microbes range in colour (anywhere that's soft on the spectrum) and appearance, from simple balls to oblong and fringe-covered, but they all have that puppy-dog-eyed charm. They make for a fun gift to anyone with a sense of humor and can even be used as tools for parents or educators. Imagine -- little Timmy comes home from school, "What did you do at school today?" "We played 'Catch the Common Cold!'"
Italian art director Daniele Lago has created some wonderful designs for the current Lago collection. One product I find particularly great is the N.O.W. Customizable Wardrobe, with the ability to create any number of color palette designs... it makes the COLOURlover inside me giddy.
It is characterized by an innovative approach to color and a system that is so flexible and versatile that it matches the exact measurements of any desire. It is not a simple modular system, but a product that achieves a perfect fit between the visualized dream and the realized solution.
I get emails, instant messages and love notes pretty often asking if I've seen Adobe Kuler and if I'm upset about it... So here is my opinion on the matter.
Back in Nov. of last year Adobe Labs launched Kuler: A 5 color palette creation tool, built around rating, tagging, commenting and sharing the palettes. Craftzine gushed, "Not only can you create your own palettes, you can get inspired by the popular color combinations already uploaded by other users. Genius!"
I take the last word in that sentence with pride. The idea is genius... I should know, I created it 2 years earlier when I built COLOURlovers.
HTML 3.2 specifications identified sixteen colors that can be used by name to define color in HTML and CSS. But don't worry you can use more than sixteen colors in HTML... you'll just need to know the six character HEX values and we've listed pretty much all of the ones you'll need on one page.
