The always lovely Design*Sponge has been showing a lot of color love recently and we're all for it! If you're not familiar with the curatorial prowess of Grace Bonney and her contributors I suggest you start with a few of these recent color lovin' posts.
Using over 50 miles of string, Gabriel creates dramatic, almost other-worldly installations that, from one perspective, remind me of sophisticated and elaborate versions of the weavings all Girl Scouts do at summer camp using popsicle sticks. - Read more
After a few days immersed in chilly temps and all-white scenery, I’m ready for a little (okay, a lot) of color...If there was ever a company with a pattern-filled collection that could shake the winter blues right off of you, this is it. - Read more
Pets get chilly in the wintertime, too (I noticed that my kitty has been making herself little nests all over my apartment since the cold weather has really set in), so keep them extra cozy with a quilted pet bed stitched in a winter-blues-blasting color palette! - Read more

on a completely unrelated note I like the irony of the fact that I'm quite possibly the youngest person posting here and the only one who didn't point the promiscuous diamond ;) hahaha

Being an artist, a woman, a mom and a sexual being... I really don't see anything wrong with pointing that out or that it makes me or immature in noting it (re: artspectrum's comment) :) And I'm certain the artist here knew very well what the end result looked like. Some artists tend love controversy in their art. If you don't say it, you're thinking it. :P
What I want to know, is did you choose that one as the header image on purpose? lol It certainly made me click on it with a what the...? (before seeing the article)
I still can't stop looking/studying the layers of string... really impressive.

i choose it because i felt it was the strongest image (the blending, the texture, the color, not so much the end point) and it worked well in the format. maybe it was my "unconscious mind" - DAMN YOU FREUD! though truthfully it wasn't my intent to show an image resembling a vagina with the title "spreading..." but funny things happen sometimes - oy.

I just had to support my angle on commenting about it. Wow, this HAS been quite entertaining! Good Job! (again)
