Howdy COLOURlovers! Who's ready for another contest? We know we are and this time we're back with a canvas wall art design contest brought to you by UPrinting.com.

UPrinting is an online printing company that offers a wide range of print products including business cards, canvas prints, postcards, posters, as well as other custom print materials. They are specifically proud of their eco-friendly printing that uses recycled paper types and vegetable and soy-based inks. UPrinting has also received accolades for its complimentary, easy-to-use print and design resources.

How to Enter

Open to the entire community, the theme for this contest is ‘A Summer Summary’ -- we want to see the color palettes and patterns that best describe your summer experience. COLOURlovers will submit designs you've created for a 4x6 rectangle template on the UPrinting Contest Page, and keep in mind you're limited to 3 contest entries, so choose your submissions wisely.

Contest Dates

Entries will be accepted from August 1st - August 9th.
Voting will remain open until 10pm PDT Sunday, August 12th.
Winners will be announced on Monday, August 13th.

Voting Process

To vote, COLOURlovers simply need to click the "love" button on the designs you like the most. At the end of the voting period, the top five (5) designs with the most Love will be chosen as winners.

Prizes

What do they win? Each of the 5 winners will get a 24” x 36” rolled canvas print, courtesy of UPrinting.com! Winners can choose to go with a 2 inch border or no border and they can print a design of their choosing on the canvas. There's a turnaround time of one business day to get the canvas printed.

The folks at UPrinting have been kind enough to provide an exclusive 10% discount for COLOURlovers members, and it can be used for any order made on their site. Just enter the code COLOUR10 when you check out to take advantage of this special offer. Terms of this discount include:

Hmm.. The rules for the contest state "keep in mind you're limited to 3 contest entries, so choose your submissions wisely." However, I am seeing most people submitting more than three entries.

Since the rest of us were prevented from entering more than 3 entries by the form, I would like to see those who entered more than that, before they changed the software, delete the extra entries. It would seem much more fair.

It's all a popularity contest anyway... just sayin... doesn't matter if I had a million entries, and there were only one other, I wouldn't win. If people were so concerned about making it fair, they wouldn't post it multiple places, thus increasing the chances of it being seen by more, thus increasing the chance for more love.

Now that I"m off my soapbox, haha, if I love something, I'll click love. Whether it's for a contest or not. Simple as that.

Aw, you are mean to you! I haven't even placed in the last three contests, or is it four? I can guarantee it's not fiddly bits that win them over. It's hard to say what people like, I'm usually wrong. I think using a popular palette would have been a lot smarter, just because of the notifications people get automatically. But eh, I picked the ones I thought looked best in the contest shape ^_^

Yes, I suppose. To me, it would be better to submit anonymously... that's all I'm saying. I am not the skill level of others that have won, and I know that. But, eh. Just my opinion

I'm talking about multiple places ON the site. There is a reason when you click on the contest page you see 'random' patterns. People that blast contest entries through love notes, I don't vote for. EVER.

Maybe a solution would be closing submissions THEN voting, only giving people two or three votes.

I hear what you're saying. Sadly, it's still worth the risk. I've tried it both ways. If you answer your thank you notes with badges, you often pick up 3-4 loves just from the message exposure. So one step back, three steps forward. All I know is I'm not going to kill myself fighting for self promotion anymore. Gelaskins taught me that one. But that's the way this site works, socially. I have loved many many times palettes I would never have seen otherwise except through the comments... people are never threatened by those unless there's a contest. I don't care. If it's a good entry, I'll vote for it.
I'd still like to see a contest where all the entries mounted at once when it's time to vote. That way no one would have a time advantage.

I agree! It would be great if they could be posted at once and if you could view them all rather than so many random entries at a time so that you are not missing loving any that deserve votes and do not have to sift through those you have already voted for :) I appreciated prax sharing with us how to view entries based on doing a search but I do not know if that is possible with all contests :)

Another thing that kind of puts people at a disadvantage is making the templates. Some can import shapes into seamless and go from there. Some can't. Some are a LOT more skilled with seamless. I've been on this site for a year now and I'm JUST now learning how to make things that look sort of good... but nowhere near on the level of someone like prax, who is an amazing maker of templates, or a lot of other people on the site. Again, these are just my opinions, I probably sound like a sore loser but all these constant contests...

My Favorite place is the inlet at Barnegat Light next to the lighthouse...I love watching the boats sail from the bay into the ocean :)

Amyanne, you can sort through any contest entries by using the tags feature. You have to look on an entry page to get to one, though, not a random entries page. The tag for this contest is uprinting-canvas.
