Added on 22 March, 2009 InspirationThe title of this pattern comes from the song "Lilac Wine" : words and music by James Shelton (1950). It was performed by a number of singers including Eartha Kitt (1953). Nina Simone\'s version is considered a jazz classic (1966). UK singer Elkie Brooks charted with the song in 1978. However, Jeff Buckley made the song immortal with his heartbreaking version on Grace (1994). Go to the inspiration link to hear that version . . . and have your heart break. (http://www.last.fm/music/Jeff+Buckley/_/Lilac+Wine) Lilac Wine I lost myself on a cool damp night Gave myself in that misty light Was hypnotized by a strange delight Under a lilac tree I made wine from the lilac tree Put my heart in its recipe It makes me see what I want to see and be what I want to be When I think more than I want to think I do things I never should do I drink much more than I ought to drink Because it brings me back you... Lilac wine is sweet and heady, like my love Lilac wine, I feel unsteady, like my love Listen to me... I cannot see clearlly Isn\'t that she coming to me nearly here? Lilac wine is sweet and heady, where\'s my love? Lilac wine, I feel unsteady, where\'s my love? Listen to me, why is everything so hazy? Isn\'t that she, or am I just going crazy, dear? Lilac Wine, I feel unready for my love To learn about why lilacs are my favorite flower go to: ![]() Color by COLOURlovers My thanks to Colourlover Podesta for the sweet and heady inspiration. ♥ ![]() ![]() Inspiration Linkhttp://www.last.fm/music/Jeff+Buckle... ![]()
