today i heard about the story with vincent and gauguin.
the one why he cut parts of his ear off.crazy one
gauguin stayed for 6 years in lima- he was related with peruian(?) nobility

and theo died 7months after vincent´s suicide ("attempt" -bad shot- so he died 2 days after)

i got really hooked up with post-impressionists in 1998 -and specially with vincent- and so i read every book available about him. i think these details appeared in the letters with his brother theo

yes :) i think one of the things that impressed me the most was that he was named as his older brother —who died still being a baby.

he left about 800 paintings and lots - lots - lots of drawings.

This is wonderful because he used those choppy brush strokes a lot. The pattern really suits a tribute to his art. :-)
