I've been using cloning to avoid grouping pattern pieces together. That's worked best for me so far. I've also noticed that if I've done a lot of deleting or undoing I can avoid error messages if go out of Seamless and start again fresh. I'm not sure why, but my best guess is that problems start if the sidebar if filled with those folders.

Your idea about a template guide is brilliant. Is there a group on CL for template designers? I've been too busy creating and haven't explored the site yet.

i clone groups..is that bad? clone a lot.. save shape first or make group first?

maybe we can start with a group on tips with doing templates...not allowing questions cos i have seen the forum and it seems all piled together..confusing, thats me,,could be wrong...Some kind patient souls could leave tips...i might have one....nope none of yet,
