I must have missed this when you posted it. iMy boys are 13 and 18 and I worry so much about them. This boy was a real good friend of my son's. The year anniversary was earlier this month and the class that Nick and Bailey were apart of still are vigilant in keeping their memory a part of the school. It has been a tough year for those kids losing two classmates at the same time. Two that touched so many lives ..in ways that no one really ever knew while they were alive. Which is a terrible shame that in death do we realize the things that mattered and took for granted. I tell my kids everyday. Don't leave anything unsaid , undone, for tomorrow is not a promised day. Thank you so much for the kind comment and observation. i do believe that light exist in death. Maybe not the physical light we know..like a lamp or sun. ...or anything from our world. . In the bible it makes many references to light and ironically in his seven days light was created before man. In return for light and in a world where darkness does not prevail..the only think he ask is that you believe in him and keep mind free from evil. Evil is dark and
isaiah 60:19
19 The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

thanks prax. The hardest thing is I don't really know how to comfort my son. It's my biggest fear ...meaning that I am scared I will have to bury my kids. I think it goes hand in hand with being a parent and what is supposedly the natural order of events. Not that we were promised order at all...but the standard of average statistics. Most parents die first...and when it's the other way ...we do not know how to deal with it because we naively believe in the order. I am very close to my kids and I have worked hard to accomplish that...and really as helpless as I feel as a mother right now...I have tried my best to take the route of virtue. A tough lesson and hard to understand as someone who faces this in high school...but I stressed that ..No, matter the situation, the purpose, or the right or wrong...leave nothing undone. Do not ever leave something unsaid or if you have unfinished issues...resolve them. While the soul finds peace in death ....the soul in the living lives on and those things that seem important at the time to walk away or hurt someone is the very stone that removes your peace in life. I have dealt with a few things like this during my life and many of the senseless deaths (or so they seem....but, my faith I believe that when it's your time ...the inevitable will happen)...The hardest thing is not often the death itself but the blame and the what if I would have said or done. Basically, it's the same thing we try to live ...as if you will never see the other again. The last words should be I love you and there is no ego, no pride, and no amount of right that is worth living with how wrong you were with no way to fix it. It's been tough...thank you for your words.

Thank you. Today I had to go to a funeral. Two of the kids in my sons class were killed in a wreck friday night. It was at a episcopal church and the pattern resembles the one that encased the Mother Mary Glass in the back of the chapel. I guess what inspired the name and dark colors....Thanks again prax.
