Description
or at least less cynical
My husband and I voted with our feet several years ago when we felt that America had forgotten who it was-- and what it stood for in the universe. We moved to China. Not because it was Communist- but because we felt there must be more "hope" at least- in SE Asia.
Before today, I have only ever seen my husband-who studied human rights and international law- angered and embarrassed by how America has recently acted with regard to foreign policy. Today, he and I both cried...as we HOPE that America forgets its recent habit of dividing- and starts again to move toward unifying. We hope within the US- the people we have heard make racial judgments will put these aside. We hope outside the US- we will not have to hang our head at every boarder crossing as we show our passports. We know what ideals the USA gave us-- we just did not know if they existed there anymore.
WE stand across the Pacific- optimistic.
FYI...i didn't choose a party. I didn't choose to make this a political statement...I am merely commenting on the fact that I'm so impressed so many people in America are once again standing at attention in the USA! YEAY!
