Description

Gehenna (also gehenom or gehinom) (Hebrew:גהינום) is the Jewish equivalant to purgatory or hell. The name derived from the burning garbage dump near Jerusalem (the Valley of Hinnom), metaphorically identified with the entrance to the underworld.
