and that idea could apply to other colors too b/c the overall color tone of the palette dictates the 'color context' that pulls the purple in and makes the eye want it to work as a brown. hope that makes sense. cheers.
Yes, that is an interesting effect, but it wasn't intentional. If someone asked me to make a purple feel like a brown I wouldn't have a clue how to do it.
