What My Heart Wants

Walk to the shrine: Erect a Pagan shrine, one specifically to my patron Gods and Goddesses in my hometown, as well as several points elsewhere. Providing sacred spaces for people of other alternative religions to visit and meditate at as well.

Helps A Friend: One thing I'd love to do, especially if I had more money, is to provide jobs and money for dear friends who have long helped me over the years.

Sanctuary White: Build a series of sanctuaries for people to sleep in. Yes. Just sleep in for free! Non-interrupted! Try sleeping in public anywhere and you'll be asked to leave by police. Doesn't matter if you are homeless or not, it is illegal to sleep in public. We need places of peace and quiet completely free of distractions for people of all walks of life to just rest and escape from the noise of urban life. Yes, a Sanctuary for People! A sanctuary as part of a campaign to help better the mental health of humanity.

Asylum Rose: WE NEED BETTER MENTAL HEALTH CARE FACILITIES AND MENTAL HEALTH CARE WORKERS! I would put my hard earned money toward building a real asylum that is truly a place where people can heal. Not some sterile hospital atmosphere where a patient fears being sent to. Plus there needs to be better mental health education.

Help the Future: Not meant to be ambiguous, but I could not find a color to describe what it is I am already doing to help my tribal community, and what I'd like to do if I had more money in the future to further help the youth. I am working on projects to help preserve our native languages, but also to create new traditions to keep our culture fresh and alive. We can't go back in time, and we can't recapture what has been lost, but we can create a better future. It's been a very hard job because many elders are reluctant to listen to my ideas, and the kids often give resistance because they are more interested in other things that take them away from American Indian culture. It's enough to make one cry. My current project is producing a playing card deck as a language education tool. It is slow going because my audience is very hard to please!
