Hold On To Me

This challenge is depressing but I think it could be helpful so I'm going to give it a go.

No One Is Listening- You got lost in the shuffle and you know it. You are over-looked by many, especially those whom you desperately need. The only way to be heard is screaming and crying out, right? But you've tried that and it doesn't work. You are only scolded for your actions which leads to more screaming and more acting out. Eventually you realize that you're acting out more against yourself than anyone else because of your own self-loathing.
No one is listening. You cannot force them to hear you. You can hear yourself and you can listen to what you have to say. Try to calm down and listen to what you're trying to tell yourself; be in tune with your thoughts and feelings. If you can develop a friendship with yourself, the screaming stops and people start to hear you. Best of all, you have a friend for life and you're never alone.

A Great Big World - I know you feel trapped. You feel like the world begins and ends in your hometown because this is the only place you've ever known. You know that something more is out there and you crave it intensely.
Listen up, sweetie: you are going to see more of the world than you ever dreamed you would. You'll even get to live in a foreign country, in a culture so different than your own that it seems almost like another world and have so many new opportunities.
Take heart; you aren't going to spend your whole life and die in that messy bedroom of yours.

Don't Stop - You know the myriad of dreams and fantasies you have? And you know how people give you a hard time because you spend most of your time with your head up in the clouds? Well, don't stop. Those daydreams and fantasies give you hope to move forward. Don't let anyone take them away from you.

Let It Go - You fight with all of your might to gain your father's love and approval, which is completely understandable and natural. You work and work and work at it but to no avail.

Save yourself the time and the pain. The man who fathered you is not capable of loving in the same way as other human beings. He isn't worthy of your time and affection. So, save your precious time and your already-frail emotions for something that does deserve your attention.

Let it go.

Be Brave - You're going to make it through this horrible time in your life. You are going to find someone who really loves you. You are going to have a wonderful family. But you have to stand strong and be brave. Don't cower in the corner any more. Stand up for yourself and look to yourself for strength. Hold on to me and I'll help you.
