Description
As far back as I can remember it was tattered and faded, but I'd like to think these were the colors in my Great Aunt Catherine's wallpaper when it was first hung over 150 years ago.
Aunt Catherine's home was a dark place with old paint and wallpaper that was so faded it was hard to tell what color it was. She had over-used furniture, wood floors that creaked and a stair case leading upstairs to a place I was never allowed to go.
She had a large yard (well, it seemed large when I was seven), filled with chickens, a vegetable and flower garden, and it was completely enclosed with a vine covered fence that would bloom in the Spring. And I'll never forget the Lilies of the Valley that lined her front yard.
Her hair was always up in a bun except on Saturdays when she would let it fall down to the back of her knees so she could wash it in sections and then tightly wind it back up. I would visit every Saturday morning so I could watch Rapunzel let down her long silver hair.
She was kind to a fault.
I don't know if that old house still stands but these pleasing soft and serene colors would probably have been a closer color match to Aunt Catherine's personality than to her decor.
Thanks for looking, loving and faving!

PS. I read the profile pages of everyone who writes a personal note. I just read yours and I'll admit to not only a couple of giggles but at least one good, out-loud, belly laugh. I wish you lived next door!
PS.PS. Hi, I'm FlutePixzy and I'm a parenthetic addict too (Hi, FlutePixzy), it's been 3 hours since I've used parentheses - um... two seconds, (head hung in shame), Aack! When I think I'm using too many parenthesis, I start using "m" dashes closing with a comma at the end before finishing my original thought. Think anyone notices the difference? I also use a lot of commas. I know their proper placement but I use them every time my thought cadence changes. Very lazy habit.
