5 things about me

Thanks so much to albenaj and AlineDam, who independent of each other tagged me! I greatly appreciate this!

1. I’m analytical. I have a sort of talent for listening and figuring out problems– which probably makes me decent at giving advice to friends. I can sometimes untangle complex things with an understanding when others can’t. While most people give up, and independent of any help, I developed my own solution for solving the Rubick’s Cube puzzle from any starting point.

2. Drums is my instrument. While I play a few musical instruments and love arranging and producing music, my main talent is as a drummer ... I haven’t traveled much in the world, but my time as a touring musician took me to 48 of the 50 US states (and all of Southern Canada). Most musicians and artists tend to draw on creativity and expression to drive their inspirations... I have some of that, too, but if I have a dominant feature, it comes from logic and a desire for precision, and drums happen to be the one instrument where precision serves a player very well. It creates a solid framework that lets the other players really play and sing!

3. I’m passionate. If you’re here and I’ve interacted with you, you probably know this already— I have strong feelings. If I love something I really LOVE it. (Have you noticed, I almost never love a palette or pattern without faving it, too?) I tell friends how I feel about them. I want to recognize and appreciate goodness when I see it.

4. I’m addicted to hot and spicy foods. No, I mean the REALLY hot stuff. I once ordered plants of literally the hottest chile pepper in the world. They came with a label saying they were an “agriculturally controlled substance’ and that I was not to save the seeds or distribute the fruit, or use it for any commercial purpose. 1000 times hotter than a jalepeño, after making a sauce out of them, simply rinsing the food processor turned my hands purple and made them burn for a week. I regularly dare restaurant chefs to make something too hot for me to eat. It hasn’t happened yet.

5. I’m sincere. Maybe passion leads me to express myself in some ways that will seem over-the-top at times but I generally mean what I say quite sincerely. When I do tease, or occasionally I bluff, or on the very rare occasion I’ve tried to convince someone of something that wasn’t the complete truth, the dimples I get when I smile totally give me away very time.
