Broadleaf evergreen shrub, slow growing, 2 ft (0.5 m) tall, dense, mounding habit, small thorns, 3-parted or simple. Leaves 1-2.5 cm long, prickly tip, otherwise entire. Flowers yellow-orange. Fruit purple-blue.

Hardy to USDA Zone (6) 7 Native to southern Chile, Argentina.

apparently it grows there...and some are sick, since they found a disease in this area. (Corvallis, Oregon)
