Colour Clash

How's your room?
This is the walls my bed room - it was just after I painted it, so you can't see the furniture but it's a very empty room anyway - with furniture it would be nearly the same :

the photo's a bit dark + I added contrast. The grey square and the green are the same value - depending the light, it disappears.

That was written in early 60's . I think he said that because many desigs tended to be all in same hues:

This is because I fell on an old article that stated one HAD TO use harmonic combinations if you wanted to do something 'beautiful'!!! Un-directly it said that if you didn't you were wrong! @@
